The Four Loves ~ Affection

After numerous rounds of mixing Soul Brew’s Kombuchas with our brews, our first love was a blend of SB’s Black Lives Matter and TBCo’s Rare Optics. The selected IPA is clean and loaded with grapefruit forward hops with the Kombucha creating the overall depth and balance with flavors of blackberry, lemon, and mango. Is it a Sour? No. Is it a Lambic? No. Is it a Farmhouse Ale? No. Is it good? Really, really, refreshingly good? Yes!

Brew City’s HEYDAY

Doing a collaboration with the talented crew at Dead Bird has been high on our list and we were very excited when this collab got lined up! Together we brewed a classically British barleywine. “Loaded with Paul’s Marris Otter, a touch of blackstrap molasses, and UK grown Fuggle hops. Right malt with a soft herbal hint tames the alcohol to make this the perfect sipper for the season.” Fun Fact! In Milwaukee’s HEYDAY, it was the largest supplier of malt in the US of A! We’ll cheers to that! (This brew is served in 10 oz or 5 oz pours in our taproom.)

Collab w/ Starkweather

A collaboration with our friends at Starkweather in Madison, which is precisely 76 miles from our brewery. Weird coincidence that the ABV came in at 7.6%, and the release party was on 7/6? What can you expect in this one? A glass of dark chocolate, coffee, dark candi sugar sweetness, smooth mouthfeel, and a heavy dose of hops to balance everything out. Santé! Proost! Skål! Prost!

Hides & Hemlock

A collaboration between a Milwaukee & Manitowoc brewery harkens us back to a time our two cities shared a connection through the tanning industry. This time the link is through barley & hops. It’s our belief working together makes us all stronger. So, an English Strong seemed the perfect beer for this collab. Malty, slightly sweet with notes of caramel, toffee, dried fruit, nuts and an approachable alcohol warmth..

Wonago West

COLLAB w/ Steel Tank and Mikerphone

The quick story is that we got together to brew a beer because we realized 5 of us all graduated from Mukwonago high school around the same time. (Muk Grads – Steel Tank: Jason Radosevich, Mikerphone: Mike Pallen, Torzala Brewing Co.: Jake Palubicki, Renee Martinez and Tricia Torzala) Since three breweries came together to create this brew, we used three different hops in this tall drink of beer… Columbus, Chinook and Amarillo. Cheers!

Prost Mathilde!

Collab w/ Wizard Works

Inspired by the spirit and determination of civil rights icon Mathilde Anneke, the brew was designed and produced by women throughout the entire process. The Idaho Gem hops sourced for the beer came from woman-owned Gooding Farms in Idaho. To grow the hops, they used a compost made using old, sexist beer posters donated by Miller Brewing Co.

Staying true to the style, expect a toasty aroma, malty & slightly roasty flavor, balanced bitterness, slightly hazy and SMOOTH. Prost!

THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME
When the women of Wizard Works and Torzala Brewing got together for a collab, they decided to design a beer for civil rights icon, Mathilde Anneke, with her spirit and character in mind. Her even tempered, yet robust leadership style fighting for women’s rights guided our hand. In honor of her memory, this beer was solely designed, brewed, branded, and packaged by women.

You Started it!

Collab w/ Enlightened Brewing

Our Anniversary Brew collaboration with our friends at Enlightened Brewing. This was the first beer ever brewed in this storied brew space. Straight forward nut brown using our house maple syrup from Crandon, WI. Memories of Newcastle come to mind with a dose of sweetness.
