Bigote Grande
Mexican Dark Ale
Rafael Baez was recruited to Milwaukee in the 1880s by the C.D.Hess Opera Company and was one of Milwaukee’s first Mexican immigrants. As a successful organist at local churches and performer at the Atheneum, Baez became Marquette University’s first Mexican professor as a music teacher. To honor his legacy, we developed a version of a beer with deep Mexican roots, Negra Modelo, due to its depth of character like the man himself.
Fun fact: Why the name Bigote Grande? It translates to Big Mustache and as you might guess, he had a huge mustache!
