Rare Optics

Let’s face it, we all see things differently based on our surroundings, upbringing, and personal beliefs. It’s also affected by, well, our actual vision. Starting at the age of 20, our brewmaster was diagnosed with a rare eye disorder, Kerataconus, which resulted in bilateral corneal transplants. This brew is dedicated to the nurses and doctors who guided him through his journey, from virtual blindness to 20/20. Inspired by providing a solution to an uncommon problem, we used ingredients utilizing advances in brewing technology. A clean malt bill was chosen to highlight a massively hopped, yet crisp & clean IPA including cryogenic hops and thiolized yeast. The result is a brew with tropical flavors and aromas, such as passionfruit, grapefruit, and mango.
