Brew 42
Brew 42, Brew 42! Hut, Hut! Hand-off & cut-back right straight to the tap line. Former Badger and Packer Gary Ellerson has become a WI legend after maintaining a strong presence in the community and after his days. With strong ties to the WI sports world, it only seemed fitting to design a beer as refreshing as his local sports takes after a crushing loss or a euphoric win!
Killa Kölsch
This is our second brew under the Grave Digga brand name crafted for our partner, Gilbert Brown. When the Super Bowl champ approached us to create a few beers that stand out and bury the competition, we were all in. Killa Kölsch is designed to be approachable to everyday American beer drinkers, but elevated enough to get them into the premium beer game.
Lady Elgin
Known as one of the worst maritime disasters on the Great Lakes where an estimated 300 passengers perished with only 100 surviving. Most of the passengers that day were Irish returning from a trip to Chicago. At 2:30 am, a lumber schooner collided with the ship ripping open a large hole, sinking within 30 minutes Of the estimated 400 passengers, only 100 survived. Between the sinking of the Lady Elgin on Sept. 8th, 1860 and the Third Ward Fire of 1892, the landscape of the Irish community in Milwaukee was forever altered. Facing significant family losses from the shipwreck and rebuilding difficulties in the Third Ward, most Irish chose to move west to the Tory Hill and Merrill park neighborhoods.
Pole-To-Pole
While reviewing historical records of Wisconsin’s hop growing history, farmers would estimate crop quality and yield based on “pole-to-pole” inspections. If unfamiliar, hops grow vertically on a bine wrapping themselves around poles and support twine reaching heights up to 24’! WI was once a powerhouse in the industry producing over 4.7 million pounds of hops in 1869 before collapsing a few years later due to downy mildew, mites, and other hop regions recovering. Remnants of this era can mostly be found today in Sauk County.
Polish Victory Lap
Alan Kulwicki, 1992 Winston Cup Champion. Perseverance, hard work, determination, not deep pocketed race teams, is what drove him to achieve his success. Racing for himself his team of 14 paled in comparison to average teams of 100+. Odds be damned, he won the championship, his way, trusting his gut, silencing outside influence and critics. A unique personality certainly should have their own celebration. In Alan’s case, it was the Polish Victory Lap, driving around the track in the opposite direction after a win. Na Zdrowie to you Alan Kulwicki! Your memory lives on!
Sound-On-Sound
This beer pays homage to a Wisconsin icon in the world of music, Les Paul! A pioneer who developed the technique of multitrack, sound-on-sound, which allowed individual parts to be recorded at separate times and then layered together for the final release of a song. Using his mentality, we felt a multi-layered beer would be the best way to honor his ingenuity.
